Teeth worn down and chipped from grinding, damaged by acid erosion, sensitive.
Acid erosion is irreversible loss of tooth structure due to chemical dissolution by acids. It initially attacks the enamel, causing it to become thin. Making it's way to the dentin and causing yellowish discolouration into gradually developing hypersensitivity.
There are extrinsic and intrinsic factors that could cause this condition and it could be prevented on early diagnosis.

Veneers are essentially a small covering (or shell) bonded to the front of any cracked, chipped or damaged part of your tooth. There are different types of veneer, porcelain, ceramic and composite resin are used, however, porcelain veneers are the most common. When you visit Spa Dental Sydney CBD we use these to help restore your smile to its previous pristine condition, to give you a natural and neat looking set of teeth that you can show off.
The veneers are held firmly in place with a dental adhesive. Each veneer is shaded to match your tooth colour and shaped to match your other teeth, allowing your repair to blend in and become essentially invisible.
In the event that you chip or damage your teeth our team will fit your veneers on the tooth being treated in a short treatment session. The prosthetic covering is held in place with a dental adhesive that we then cure and solidify under a light to make sure your new veneer is held in place. In the case of composite veneers, your dentist will mold these directly onto your teeth by hand.
At Spa Dental Sydney CBD our talented team will provide you with a natural looking veneer that will help restore your smile to its former glory, in a short treatment that lasts less than an hour.
Veneers are often combined with other cosmetic dental treatments such as teeth straightening and teeth whitening to create a full smile transformation.
One of the biggest benefits to having a veneer is that it provides a sturdy and natural looking covering to your damaged teeth that restores them to their previous pristine condition. Another advantage is that not only is it borderline invisible, it's also sturdy and should last for a long time as long as it's properly maintained.
After we fit your dental veneers you will have to look after them to make sure they last and your teeth stay protected for a long time. To make sure your veneers stay in top condition just lightly brush them at least twice a day as part of your normal oral hygiene routine. Beyond maintaining your veneers it is important to maintain a good oral hygiene regime to prevent gum disease.
Be careful how hard you press the brush as rubbing too hard against the veneer could dislodge it or damage it over time, so keep those strokes light. If you regularly use floss we recommend that you delicately run it around your tooth as you could accidentally catch it on the porcelain covering or damage it. Basically, just try to be as careful as you can when flossing and you should be fine.
We also recommend that you avoid using mouthwash for a few days after your fitting as the chemicals in some brands can damage your new covering or dissolve the adhesive that's used to hold it in place.
