Life can be very hard if you are an anxious dental patient.

You want to have a healthy, whiter smile, but going to the dentist for even a basic check-up can seem impossible, let alone going for any cosmetic dental work.

Even with the rise in painless dentistry, soundless drills, and more compassionate dentists, fear of the dentist is still exceedingly common, with the majority of worries being due to an unfortunate incident that has usually occurred in childhood.

While our team as Spa Dental cannot undo these incidents, we have made it our mission to help all nervous dental patients overcome their fear, leading to a healthier and whiter smile!

At Spa Dental Sydney CBD, our team is trained in how to help nervous patients manage their worries in the dental chair and can provide you with a range of options to make you feel more comfortable. We will take each consultation at your pace and will endeavour to fully explain everything we are doing, in clear, jargon-free language.

So, if you are a bit anxious about getting into the dental chair, why should you come to Spa Dental Sydney CBD?

Compassion

If there’s one thing our team at Spa Dental Sydney CBD knows, it is that dental phobias or concerns are not a joke.

Our team has the highest level of compassion for all of our patients who suffer from anxiety while in the dental chair and will make sure that before, during and after any procedure you have with us, you feel 100% safe and comfortable. We will not force you into any treatments you feel unable to handle and will ensure that your wishes are respected at all times. We even schedule longer appointments for our nervous patients, so if you need a break, just tell us!

Music

If the sounds of the surgery make you anxious, you are more than welcome to bring in your phone or another device to play music during treatment.

Our team even has some headphones on site, allowing you to listen to relaxing sounds, even if you have forgotten your phone. Bliss!

In-chair television

Need a more visual distraction?

Some of our surgeries are set up with over the chair television sets, allowing you to watch the news, a film or whatever else you want while our dentists work on your teeth.

Sedation

For the more nervous patients, we can also offer sedation.

The three forms we offer include nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral sedation and intravenous (IV) sedation. For both the oral and IV sedation, we must insist that you bring an age-appropriate family member or friend along with you, to ensure you get home safely post-treatment.

Anaesthetic

If you need something a bit more all encompassing, we can also offer anaesthetic to help get you through your dental treatment.

Performed at a nearby hospital with an anaesthesiologist, this is an easy way to reduce anxiety during a dental procedure, as you will be unconscious for the entire procedure. Great stuff!
